My name is Chris Hoppenbrouwers. I’m an English-Dutch translator, with knowledge of Japanese and German. I’ve spent most of my career as a translator at Nintendo of Europe, but I’ve also worked at EA Games before that.

Projects I worked on include: MySims (tester), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (tester), SimCity Societies (translation coordinator), the Professor Layton series (lead translator), Nintendo Land (lead translator), Nintendo 3DS Camera (lead translator), Nintendo 3DS Sound (lead translator), A Little Bit of… Brain Training: Maths Edition (lead translator) and countless manuals, e-manuals and title sheets for packaged and digital games.

My favorite videogame franchises include Monster Hunter, F-Zero, Metroid, Dead Space, Resident Evil and Metal Gear. I’ve spent most of my career working on games, but I also enjoy watching movies (The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, Star Wars, Eastern Promises, Alien, Road to Perdition) and reading comic books (Invincible Iron Man, Thor: God of Thunder, Wolverine & The X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Superior Spider-Man, Kick-Ass).
